How Artificial Intelligence

Is Changing Work, Society and YOU

Tuesday 24 March 2020 – 7:00 pm

Cercle de l’Union Interalliée

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming every aspect of our lives. It is applied to increasing sectors across industries, economies, societies, public and private spheres, automating, optimizing, manipulating all sorts of processes. Influencing how we work and how we live, it promises to generate productivity gains, improve well-being and help solve complex challenges like climate change, resource scarcity and health crises. Yet, AI raises many important questions related to human values and the bases of democracy.

Philosopher Gaspard Koenig journeyed to meet leading actors of this civilization change, from the Silicon Valley to China, where AI is embraced enthusiastically, and describes regions where ‘Black Mirror’ is already a reality.  Writing after writing, Dr Laurent Alexandre, explores AI’s ‘technological tsunami’ and explains how artificial intelligence is competing with our biological brain in every field. He warns that a war of intelligences lies ahead, a war we may not win if we do not react.

Should we accept a world where humans abdicate their autonomy and sense of responsibility, rights without democracy, art without artists, science without causality, economy without market, justice without culprits, love without seduction?  Can we avoid our thinking processes to be altered?  How should we educate our children?  Are there solutions?

Join us for a fascinating discussion with brilliant sought-after speakers!
