Professor Stuart Russell will address our Big Interrogations on the Risks and Benefits of AI.  He will explore the problem of aligning AI with humanity's objectives and values. He will discuss a new approach to Artificial Intelligence and how we can maintain control on AI without stifling Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 

How do we avoid the "King Midas" problem? 
How can we design machines and algorithms that cannot dismiss humans and the real world?  
What ethical frameworks are needed? What international rules and regulations can be passed?

Stuart Russell
Stuart Russell is Professor of Computer Science, Smith-Zadeh Chair of Engineering, Founder and Director of the Center for Human-Compatible Artificial Intelligence at UC Berkeley. He is Honorary Fellow Wadham College Oxford and holds the Chaire d'Excellence Internationale Blaise Pascal - Senior Chair Excellence CNR in France.
Professor Russell is a Senior Member of the AI Global Council, Vice-Chair of the World Economic Forum's Council on AI and Robotics and sits on the Advisors Board of the Future of Life Institute. He is a Fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, the Association for Computing Machinery and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He also works for the Council of Europe, the OECD and the United Nations. 
He is the renowned co-author of Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach, a textbook used by 1500+ universities in 135 countries, and the groundbreaking book Human Compatible: AI and the Problem of Control. He has received Multiple International Awards for his far-reaching work and contributions to AI.  In 2021, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Stuart Russell hold a B.A. in Physics with Honors from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University

Paul Courtaud is the co-founder and CEO of Neobrain, an innovative scale-up specializing in the use of Artificial Intelligence for Talent Management.  It ranks #1 on the Talent Marketplace in Europe with over 120 global clients, including Safran, Natixis, Moët Hennessy, and Bosch.
Paul began his entrepreneurial journey at 14, founding Fairlydeal, a company combining promotional offers with a 5% donation to a humanitarian cause. This experience ignited his desire for a positive business impact. He co-founded Neobrain in 2016, when 22 years old.  Neobrain’s AI-powered platform allows organizations to base all their HR strategies on skills. In 2022, the company raised over €20 million. Today, it operates in France, Germany, Portugal and the US. 

Paul is the author of the book Will AI Replace Me? Mastering the AI Revolution: A Comprehensive Guide to Future-Proof Skills and Career Success.
He is co-president of the Humania Circle, a Think Tank of leaders and HR experts who promote human-centric approaches to management and innovation.
